Oooze it the rare Oooze Monster

Posted by gernot44 in Oct 20, 2009, under Stretch Armstrong

Here is one of the most obscure 1970s toys ever!Although it is not classified as a stretch figure, it is made of latex and does get filled with a type of syrup as do the stretches. The Ooze It toy has got to be the funkiest toy that ever came out of the 70s.Ooze it was thought up and designed by a family in Metairie,Louisiana and produced overseas in Hong Kong. I mean this toy is totally bitchen and outta site! Oooze It Incorporated produced only this toy that has become its “one hit wonder”. No other era but the 1970s could have spawned such a “far out” toy that’s just as gross, as it is groovy! This wicked Ooze It is so incredibly rare that only 5 are currently known to exist at the present time. Now dude,I aint jiving you when I say the Ooze It is totaly tight and off the hook! I mean just looken at this sweet toy will make you feel like you got stoned off of cheech and chong’s giant Doobie! So next time you are lucky enough to see the Ooze it,dont be a jive turkey, just buy it you dig? you wont regret it,peace out!

Oooze It #4 is one of only 2 unopened shrinkwrapped sealed Oooze It’s in existence to date. The Orphas plugs,Groovy Goo and Oooze It figure remain inside this unopened box unseen by human eyes for over 30 years.Even Stretch Armstrong stands in awe as his soft body turns to stone from the powers that be as he gazes upon this magical unopened Oooze It. Ooze It # 5 has strangely appeared on April 17th within only hours after the number 4 Oooze It appeared on ebay. This is highly unusual for such a rare toy to appear twice in one day when many years have past without even one found. Ooze It number 5 is now the second Ooze found still sealed in its box. This looks to be an extremely minty box that should bring in the bucks. This is where Oooze It got its name. Just look at that cool groovy goo pouring out of every orphas! Are you kidding me? This has got to be the winner in the Butt Ugly Contest if I ever saw one. As discusting as Ooze It may be, I must say I find Absolute Beauty in its design. Whomever thought this freak up should definitlely be locked away because no normal brain would ever think up something this strange.Oooze it even has its own company name on the box made by “Oooze it Inc”. Original price lable on the box reads $9.00. I Love It! I totally Love Ooze It !!

The almighty Mego Elastic Eight

Posted by gernot44 in Oct 20, 2009, under Stretch Armstrong

The Mego Elastic 8 consist of the only Mego Elastic Figures ever produced and now, almost 30 years later have become the rarest of not only stretch toys, but vintage toys in general. These 8 amazing elastic figures as a collection are so rare that there is only one confirmed person in the world right now that has all 8. The Mego Elastic, Spiderman,Batman,Superman,Hulk,Plasticman ,Donald Duck,Mickey Mouse and Casper are these 8.Collectors only recently are beginning to understand just how rare these action figures really are and how collectable they have become and will be in the future.Mego haulted production not only because of the Kenner Lawsuit, but also because of the products performance in the market place. The Elastics were incredibly stretchable for short term use but could not hold up to any long term stretching of only a few days or weeks. While their numbers are ever declining as any remaining elastics are simply tossed into the trash or poked and prodded creating instant holes and cracked limbs, only the very few remaining Elastics taken care of by their lucky owners will be around to see the next 30 years and will be worth a small fortune on the worldwide vintage toy collectors market, especially as a complete set. Here you will see the Mego 8 and learn just how these nearly extinced action figures together form a collection that is nearly impossible to attain.

Only 2 confirmed Mego Elastic Batman exist in the world at the present time.Have you really thought about what that means? These Batman are virtually extinced and today are the prize of any Batman Collection and Stretch Collection. Incredibly the only two Batman left both have their blue capes still attatched.Being one of the hardest Elastic figures to attain, even when Batman is on the market for sale has become almost immpossible to own. Due to its extreme value ,the last Batman Auction was relisted because nobody could afford to hit its reserve and this is one stretch figure that will not be sold out of desperation. Now or later, Batman demands its price. Not many people can afford to pay what this figure is worth making it available to only a very small class of collectors. This Batman Figure can take up to a few months to a few years to find a buyer that can afford to pay its true value. The Batman Figure will be worth an undetermined amount in the next 5 to 25 years especially because it is one of the most popular Superheroes.Enough cannot be said about just how rare and valuable this figure is today.

The Mego Elastic Plasticman is yet another testament to just how difficult it is to collect the Mego 8. Plasticman shown here is one of only two confirmed Plasticman left in existence. Plasticman being the final Elastic figure to be produced next to the Hulk was produced in such few quantities that it is likely you may never see another plasticman again. A former Mego Employee now almost 55 years of age said only a few hundred plasticman figures were released. That is such an incredibly low number which is another reason owning the Mego 8 Collection is a major miracle.

The Mego Elastic Spiderman in one of the more common of all the Elastics, however in recent years of the estimated 18 seen, most are in need of repair and are leaking and stuck in the box. The Spideys more than the other elatics seem to have more skin problems. One of the main reasons for this is that UV rays seem to break down the color Red more so than other colors. Can you remember walking into a Kaybee Toys or even a ToysRUs store and almost going blind when the bright lights hit you? I sure do. These MegoToy Stores used super bright flourecent lighting to light up all there super colorfull toys and promote and increase sales.Spiderman was also produced in a higher number so when the toy stores got them in stock, they needed to push sales so they would display their Spidey overload all over the store on end caps and points of purchase where they sat under these lights much longer than other elastics that were produced in fewer quantity. Elastics like Batman and Plasticman spent less time on the shelves under these damaging UV lights. So Spiderman even though stillmore common than the rest of the elastics is extremly scarce with only about 2 in top condition.

The Mego Elastic Superman although produced in a larger quantity over the other Elastics has become every bit as rare as the rest in recent years. Only a very small handfull of about 5 or 6 have been seen in over 7 years and only one close to mint box. Elastic Superman like the Batman has the plastic cape which again is an added plus if found untorn or even loose in the box. These capes detached very easily making this a very key factor in its value.Superman also came with a yellow “S” sticker on a peel card that was to be applied to the back of the cape. As you would think, this S sticker is unbelievably rare with only 2 known to date. So the Superman has some very neat added accessories which are very important to its value and are also very unlikely to be found making him a most immpossible find indeed ,especially in complete condition.

The Mego Elastic Incredible Hulk is the most desireable of all the Mego Elastics. There seems to be some kind of Raging Hulk Frrenzy when it comes to finding these rare Hulks. Another Elastic that one should be satisfied finding in any conditon. Of the curently 9 known Hulks, really only 6 of them are confirmed to exist, the other 3 exist in only the photos that were taken several years ago. It is impossible to confirm the existence of these 3 Hulks because the owners can no longer be reached. These 9 remaining Hulks exist in varying conditions from the number 1 mind blowing minty new Hulk to Hulks that have been refilled and repaired. All of these Hulks are incredibly valuable.Collectors are begining to understand just what “Only 9 left in the world “really means.

The Mego Elastic Donald Duck shown below has shown itself only 3 times in 7 years. All 3 Donalds have there problems with leaks and overall condition. Yet 2 of the 3 Donalds I personally repaired and preserved for many many years into the future and we must continue to do so with any others that may be found or there will surely someday be none left. Donald was the more abundantly produced of the 3 Disney Elastics yet due to their thin arms and legs, most every one of them were simply ripped apart in a day or two of strteching leaving only a minute number left in the world today. Although it is very unlikely you will see any of the Mego Elastics anytime soon other than resales of the existing confirmed Elastics. I supppose One can always hope and dream. Finding any one of the elastic figures in any condition should make one happy and content. Remember, do not be fussy if you find another Donald or Elastic figure, it may be the only chance you will ever have to own one.

The Mego Elastic Mickey Mouse cannot possibly exist in any numbers larger than 5 to 15 at best. Produced to reach a much younger crowd of children between 6 and 8 years of age, The Mickey Mouse as well as the Casper and Donald Duck were definitley treated much worse than the larger Mego Elastics that were bought by kids at least 3 to 4 years older. Just think about what some little 6 year old kid would do with one of these things. Stretched, Bit, Stepped on, thrown in the sand box and the dirt, attacked with color markers or crayons, These Mickeys were doomed from the very start of their creation! These Elastics were just not made to hold up to that kind of abuse. So now, 30 years later we can see the rusults of such neglect and abuse by the incredibly scarce numbers that remain today. Only 4 Mickey Mice have been found to date and all 4 Mickey’s have some degree of latex damage. Fortunatly, these 4 remaining Mickeys have been rescued by collectors that understand just what 4 left in the world means.

The Mego Elastic Casper shown below is in fact the only known Casper in existence today! There was one other alledged Casper being sold on a vintage toy website several years ago that ended up being a bogus sale. Mego Elastic Casper alone makes it so difficult to own this Mego 8 that the chances of finding a Casper are slim to none. Casper also was not produced in its planned numbers redering it all but extinced today. To a Casper collector, this figure would have to be one of the top toys in any collection. as it is a giant achievment in itself to find one in any condition. With its white skin, Casper is more likley to be found showing more dirt than other Elastics, however the good thing about the White color is that UV Rays do not absorb and damage as they do other colors making the chances of another Casper being found in decent condition a bit more likley. Mego Elastic Casper lives up to its ghostly name remaining almost invisable to collectors and will surly test your patience when trying to attain the Mego 8.

The Stretch Serpent finally goes to ebay Auction

Posted by gernot44 in Oct 20, 2009, under Stretch Armstrong

The long awaited Stretch Serpent Auction was here and gone faster than you can say “Dam I missed It!”.The Serpent auction lasted only a few minutes as a resident from the United Kingdom grabbed this very rare opportunity .The Serpent is among the rarest of all the stretch figures and one had to know that if ever the Serpent were to come up for auction,it would demand its value. Here is the actual auction page from this most brief encounter with the Serpent as it surfaced from the murky depths of Lochness only long enough to be scooped up by a very lucky collector, making him one of only three people in the world to have acheived the Alpha 7 Status,(the first 7 origianl stretch figures ever produced).

Alpha 7 is a most immpossible level of stretch collecting to reach mainly becasue of the Serpent extreme rarity. There are only 2 Stretch Serpents in the world at the present time with not even a clue to a possible third Serpent! The Serpent AKA “The Lochness Creature“, AKA “Cecil the Sea Serpent” is so rare that the mere thought of owning it can bring one to there very knees if thats what it took to get it. Yes,there are only two ways to obtain the Stretch Serpent my friends, dish out the cash and take it like a man, or dream of one. Although both of the only 2 Serpents needed some minimal repair,we should be more than happy just to still have them around in any condition because in the stretch kingdom its better to have an imperfect Serpent than no Serpent. The Serpent brought in a whapping $12,000 dollars making this the most valuable stretch figure next to the 15,000 Batman!

Looking back 8 years ago when I started collecting stretch figures, I hadnt thought about the Serpent since the last time I saw one in 1980 on the shelves in Hills Department Store. After over 25 years I almost forgot the Serpent existed untill I met a friend online named Eric who refreshed my memory. At that time, Eric had the only Serpent in existence. He was kind enough to send me a box copy that I propped up on a shelf in my bedroom. Every night I would look at that dam box and think to myself, there is no way I will ever find this Serpent. Then about 3 years later, the Serpent found me! I recieved an email from someone that said they had another Serpent. I had to wait 4 weeks just to see the pictures to verify that he was in fact real. After what felt like years, the pictures finally came in and I was blown away! I immediatley made him an offer he could not refuse and the rest was history. Today we still have only these 2 Stretch Serpents as one of them changes hands from one collector to another. I can tell you first hand that the new owner is well deserving of this relic and will most likely remain with him for a long long time. the world awaits, will we ever see another Serpent?

Denys Fisher Stretch Incredible Hulk

Posted by gernot44 in Oct 20, 2009, under Stretch Armstrong

The Stretch Incredible Hulk by Denys Fisher is without any doubt, the Holy Grail of all that is Stretch and Hulk.Keep in mind that there are only 19 confirmed Hulks in existence! ONLY 19! and only 12 are in great condition. These Hulks are Highly wanted by every stretch and Hulk Collector out there, This is the No. 1 Hulk and Stretch collectable there ever was and ever will be. If you dont have one now, you most likely never will. This amazing stretch was manufactured only in the Thorp Arch Estates in the United Kingdom by Denys Fisher and was Liscenced under Kenner. That means that they are unlike any other stretch figure in that they were not available in the United States and even now all 19 known Hulks originated from the UK and half the Hulks are still in the U.K. You may say,Stretch King? But the Japenese Monsters and Armstrongs were also only available in Japan where thay were produced, what makes the Hulk so special? One must realize that these figures were knock offs of the original kenner Monster and Armstrongs, some were the exact same figure sold in a Jap Box. They are not unique as is the Denys Hulk which was produced only in the UK as well as it being the only Hulk with no other versions produced in any other countries. The Denys Fisher Hulk was produced only in the UK as the figure that it is.It is said that the Hulk was produced In a Quantity of only 1,259. Each one of the Hulks were issued with a piece of tape sealing the top lid of the box that was thought to indicate what production number it is, however I recently discovered that this number tape is in fact only a catolog number as every Hulk has the same number on the tape. You can see more details of this on other pages of this site. Only 19 of these babies are known to exsist to date with the most recent number 19 Hulk showing up in June of 2008,Nine of the Hulks are in the United Kingdom. The other ten are now in the United States. All of these Hulks originated from the UK.Six of the ten U.S. Hulks are Mine. 16 of these remaining Hulks are still soft and clean, three are in need of repair.

The green hulk was made with the exact same mold as the original Stretch Armstrong by Kenner and has the exact same box, packaging and graphic design as the Kenner release armstrong. The Hulk is actually considered one of the first Original Kenner Stretch Figures that was only licensed by Kenner and produced only by Denys Fisher, which is why this figure is so valuable! It is Physically a Kenner Figure produced by Denys Fisher and was exclusive to the United Kingdom. This is why the Hulk should definitely be considered one of the first original Kenner 7 stretches, which I like to call the Alpha 7. Armstrong, Monster, Ollie Octopus, Olivia Octopus, X Ray, Serpent and Incredible Hulk. The only stretch figure said to be produced in numbered ,limited quantity. Valuable in almost any condition, These Hulks are as rare as it gets!!! Yes, believe it or not, there are only 12 original Stretch Hulk boxes remaining today. I have 4 in my collection and 2 are signed by Lou Ferrigno the Incredible Hulk himself! Two of my four boxes are almost mint with all sides and flaps.Having the figure is a great thing, but owning the origianl Box is a very important part of its value and completeness. The Boxes are even more rare than the Stretch figure making it a very very unlikely find, especially in mint condition.

Just How Rare Is the Denys Stretch Hulk You Ask? Just think about it, Kenner made 40,000 stretch Armstrongs and I have seen maybe 50 come across ebay in the past seven years. The chances are greater you will see more Stretch Armstrongs due to the greater number produced and their repective known to exist ratio. You have a better chance of getting struck by lightning than owning one of these Hulks.Keep in mind that even if you find one the chances of you winning it on ebay are very slim as you will be bidding against many other collectors. Be ready to pay big. With only 19 known to exist, If Denys Fisher made many thousands of these wonderful Hulks, then were the hell are all of them? Surely more than only 19 would have showed up by now in an almost eight year search. The fact is,these Hulks were definitely produced in a much less quantity than the Armstrongs because of the fact that there are only 19 currently known in existence. Also, Kenner produced 40,000 Stretch Armstrongs, Denys Fisher produced only a fraction of the Armstrongs Kenner did,So it would follow that Denys Fisher produced a much smaller quantity of Hulks as well. If we do the math, about 50 Kenner Stretch Armstrongs are currently known out of in fact 40,000. Thats 0.2 % Now if we take the 19 Hulks, we can assume there are also 0.2 % known which would make 10,000 Hulks produced. That being said, theoretically the Hulk is in fact Limited, The fact is, if any one person wanted to obtain one of these Hulks, Where would they find one with only 19 in existence? As I said before, The Hulk is Super Rare.

Most of these Stretch Incredible Hulks were sold out of a catalogs back in 1979.The catalogues are said to have been either Kays or Freemans mailorder catalogues.Only a small amount made their debut in some small local UK stores. One of these stores was in fact called Asda Supermarket in Doncaster England. The Hulk had a price tag of only £8.99 which eqates to $17.38 U.S. Maybe out there someone has one they dont even know about from there childhood and its stored up in the attick,or up in a garage loft behind some boxes. If you ever get lucky enough to see one of these Hulks, Do not hesitate, grab it! It will most likely be your only shot at it. No other stretch was said to be numbered and limited in its production. This is the kind of toy that will always be worth a bundle.Just remember, There are Bobbleheads that are worth over $10,000 and they cannot compare to the originallity this toy offers which makes these Hulks and any Stretch figure even more rare and enticing to collectors. It just so happens that there was in fact a $10,000 offer from a Doctor who sold his Hulk for $2,500 and then regreted selling it.The Doctor’s $10,000 buy back offer was declined. One of the more recent Hulk sales in jan 2008 achieved over $5,000 and and another Hulk sold in a bulk sale with 4 other stretch figures for almost 10,000! Trust me when I say, these Hulks are few and far between. Anything that exists in a small number a 19 is gona cost ya. But lets forget the monetary value shall we?.This Toy means more to collectors than the money. Just try to buy one from someone and see if Im wrong. No Way Jose’ is what they will say if you try to offer any amount of money. I know I woudnt sell my 5 Hulks for any price either. These Hulks are as Valuable and rare as it gets! My friend John says he will literally take his Hulk with him to his grave. Hmm, Not a bad Idea. And they say you cant take it with you.

Attack of the Stretch Monster

Posted by gernot44 in Oct 20, 2009, under Stretch Armstrong

The Stretch Monster is the most desireable and favorite Stretch Figure of all time. The scaley green Monster seems to be the one that most collectors really go for. A very valuable Figure, yet not out of reach for most people to buy.I devoted this page to pay ohmage to this Fine Great Green Stretch Monster.Unfortunately I cannot show photos of the Mexican, and TolToys Monster because I do not own them yet. The Stretch Monster stands alone as the finest most collectable stretch ever produced. These Monsters are commonly found still soft and very stretchable. There skin is most often found to be very supple with no signs of latex breakdown. The scaley skin pattern is the coolest! The Stretch Monster to say the least was ultimate perfection in stretch figure production. Truely a work of art. All these Monsters have the same body types and Heads and were basically reboxed identical monsters except for the Tsukuda Japenese version which has a totally different Head type and a slightly different body and skin. Also the Mini Tsukuda Monster ( A very rare one of a Kind piece) is the exact same body and head as the larger Tsukuda Monster except it is only about 6 inches tall.

Shown below is the Kenner released Monster. A very fine specimen that made a super big hit upon its release in 1977. Again, This is the most valuable version next to the Japenese and Mexican versions. Any one of the 3 versions mint in box could reach $2,000 to $3,000 each. One of my personal top 5 favorite stretches. Here is a Great Advertisement showing the Monster locking up with no other than the king ,Stretch Armstrong! This appears to be a page from a whoesale catalog that stores would order from. These Monsters were shipped from the factory to the stores in a box count of 6 at a weight of 26 1/4 lbs. Same goes for the Stretch Armstrongs.

Below is a very rare Elastic Montre made in France another pic of the box below to the right. This French Version was made in very few quantities and only available in France. This is the only French Version ever seen in almost seven years of collecting. Notice the side view of the Denys Fisher United Kingdom Monster Box Below has the same image as the front view of the French Version above. The Denys Fisher Monster is theoretically the same as Kenner. nobody could really tell the difference. However,The Kenner Monsters do seem to have a slightly different green color. This Color variation is common from one stretch figure to another as the factory dyes were not always exact.

Aluminum Dip Molds and Mandrels

Posted by gernot44 in Oct 20, 2009, under Stretch Armstrong

Here are the most unbelievable, rare and original Aluminum Dip Molds that were used to make the almighty Stretches of Old. These Molds (Mandrels) exist in extremely low numbers, some as few as one. This is because the Mandrels were sent off to the scrap yards after production and as recently as august of 2007 when the original factory that dipped these molds closed its doors permanently and scrapped the very last remaining mandrels.Because of the patented trade mark on these toys and their design, these Mandrels were thrown in large metal bins and locked away under tight security till they were sent off to the scrap yard and destroyed!. Only a few made there way out of the factory. These are the last existing molds of there kind. These molds are extremely rare and valuable.Notice they have a whitish residue on them. This is the pure talc powder they were treated with as a release agent for the latex. Enjoy a look at these fine and extremly rare pieces of Stretch History! Soon I will be interviewing the actual employee that dipped these molds for almost 30 years and discuss the dipping process and machines used to make them.Because the X Employee wished to remain anonymous, I will refer to him as Kramer.I will be placing the interview here on Stretch Armstrong World.A great thanks to Kramer for making it possible to obtain these fine rare molds and keep them preserved here on Stretch Armstrong World for all to see.

A first look at the only existing proof of a Stretch Armstrong Woman. Did this mold ever become the finished figure? or did it stop here. Either way, this great and one of a kind mold is proof that the idea did make it past the drawing board. This is the only Stretch Monster mold ever seen. This most likely is in fact the only Monster mold left in existence today. My favorite of all the aluminum mandrels. You are looking at an extremely valuable piece. Very detailed scales and lines this Monster Mandrel was originally carved in wax or clay to the most extreme detail. This is one mold that is NOT for sale The original one and only, Stretch Armstrong Aluninum Dip Mold! I know of only 3 of these in existence and they are all in my personal collection. it is possible that there may be one more out there somewhere. A very very Rare and valuable collectors piece as this was the very first aluminum mold that lead to the production of so many other stretch figure variations. You guessed it! . The 1992 Cap Toys Stretch Armstrong Mold! Cap Toys brought the Stretch Armstrong back in 1992 and slapped a comical Blond Haired giant toothed head on it to become the new Stretch Armstrong. I have seen only about about 20 of these mandrels to date and none in the last 2 years. I have only 2 of these molds left and am selling only one of them. Please email me if you are intersted. they are very heavy and solid Aluminum and very very cool.

Made of a very odd Rubber exterior layered over a more solid interior at the head and neck only as to secure the bolt for mounting to the rail. This mold is actually somewhat flexible. This mega rare one of a kind piece is the exact same shape as the Stretch Mask Figure but with more detail. You can see the white talc powder in the etched areas that resemble featherlike qualities. Could this be a revised Mask mold? Actually this is the Drastic Elastic Stretch Figure mold from Justoys. the Draastic Elastic line of stretches consists of 2 stretch figures,The Xtendinator shown here and his enemy Xpando Commando. This is one of the several molds I just purchased from the employee that actually dipped them back in the day.The Factory recently closed and all the dip molds were scrapped. The Cap Toys Fetch Armstrong Stretch Dog! Oh Yeah! Looks pretty goofy without the head. This is the smaller version shown here, however they are exactly the same form shape except for there size. This is how the Dip molds looked as they were lowered into the magical liquid latex. This is the actual dip rail the molds were mounted to at the head flange with bolts. Pretty awsome!

Talk about an amazing find! Here is a very unique and very rare Stretch Kangaroo. This is a very large full size stretch mold that was untill now only said to exist. Here is proof that the Stretch Kangaroo was in the works. The front paw limbs that are missing would have been attatched to the upper head and torso area as non latex appendages. This figure most likely was never produced in the latex form. Click on pic for a full size view.
Here is the Denys Fisher Stretch Incredible Hulk Mold. The reason I say this is the Hulk mold is because of the unique green color it has. I can only assume this was Denys Fishers way of identifying them as the Hulk molds, especially since the Denys Fisher Hulk is exclusive to the united Kingdom. It is also very possible that someone repainted this mold in gren for their own preference. This is actually the exact mold as the Kenner armstrong Porcelian Mold. A very rare piece.

This Kenner Stretch X Ray Mold. The only one of these special molds I have ever seen in all my years of collecting. The Stretch X Ray Figure is a very popular stretch among collectors. If you ever see this mold anywhere do not hesitate to buy it at any cost as the X Mandrel is very obscure. What gigantic mold could this be? Hmm ??? Did you guess it yet?? No, Ill give you one more try, Tic Toc Tic Toc, Ok Ok! Its the Original, Orangy Red Corn Cob filled Cap Toys Vac Man! This is believe it or not one of only three in existence. This thing is enormous!, and super heavy and cool! If you collect the Vacman figure, you must have this Mold with the figure. I have 2 of the three vac man Molds and am selling one of them on ebay right now! Go there and buy it! Its the only one left!

Here is an unbelievably unique and obscure Stretch Serpent Head Wax Mold. This wax mold exsists somewhere, but has yet to appear other than this single picture. This was what eventually became the awsome green plastic head for what is the most unattainable stretches ever. The very rare and fragile porcelian Stretch Armstrong Mold. There are currently only about 7 of these in existence and that number may only decrease as these porcelan molds can crack if not stored correctly. I personally have 5 of these rare molds in my collection. These are very rare pieces and of the highest quality and detail as apposed to the Aluminum Armstrong Version which were a bit smoother and less defined. The red color is a release agent applied to the mold as well as talc powder.

Above in the lower right smaller picture is what Stretch Armstrong almost looked like before the revisions were made and and it finally became what it is today. This as well as the Monster mold is one of the very first carvings of the proposed stretch armstrong and Monster figure as seen from the eye of the creators mind as he manually carved every curve. These are by every sense of the word the alphas of every stretch armstrong and Monster figure you see today. This is where they all came from .You can see the monsters shoulders and arm position are much different from the final version. as well as A much bulkier, stiffer look to the stretch armstrong.

The Amazing 15,000 Dollar Batman

Posted by gernot44 in Oct 20, 2009, under Stretch Armstrong

This Mego Elastic Batman is now the most valuable stretch on the planet and possibly the single most wanted stretch ever in stretch History next to the Denys Fisher and Mego Hulks. This is no lie…. I recently won this mint Batman on an ebay auction. There were 42 bids! and I remained the high bidder throughout the entire auction bidding $500 more every time someone came within 200 dollars of my highest bid. Bids reached $3,150 up to the last 4 seconds, when all of a sudden it shot up to $15,100 bucks! Holy Crap!, $15,100!!!!!! Me and another bidder wanted this Batman something terrible. Can you imagine the look on the face of the 15,000 dollar bidder when he saw 15,100!! I could just feel the grey hairs popping out of my cranium on this one. A truely amazing auction with suspense up the ying yang! This auction will go down in the history books as the biggest stretch auction ever!.This is almost no doubt the last survivor in this outstanding totally mint condition. I have another Batman that although not totally mint is very very nice and clean and I may sell it soon for a very fare price. These are the only 2 known examples I have actually seen in all my years of collecting. The Batman is that rare! These Batman Stretches a Batman collectors dream! Now 3 years later the Mint Mego Elastic Batman is valued at well over $20,000 and may even bring in up to $40,000.What an amazing piece to have thanks to the guys at SquareTraders Inc. The 11 Mego Elastic Incredible Hulks

Posted by gernot44 in Oct 20, 2009, under Stretch Armstrong

The 11 Mego Elastic Incredible Hulks are among the rarest of all the Stretch Figures. Mego discontinued there Elastic Superheroes line due to the lawsute filed by Kenner. The Elastic Hulk was one of the final Elastic Superheroes to be produced along with the Elastic Plasticman and their production ran short due to this Kenner/Mego litigation which is why it is so rare. This is an Official Count of all the Known Hulks in existence to date. The last and most recent Hulk to appear was the number11 Hulk in May of 2009. Compare the Mego Hulks count to the Denys Fisher Hulks count on the next page from time to time and see which Hulk is more rare. The Mego Hulks are biginning to catch up with the Denys Hulks. An amazing Stretch Figure that are normally found in need of at least some repair. The following Values vary due to the Skin condition or blemishes, Box rating ,softness, Shape or Symitry as well as other factors. As with any Stretch Figure even a tiny hole can decrease the value by hundreds or even thousands depending on its location and severity.Keep in mind that anything as rare as these Hulks are gonna cost ya, even one in bad conditon is worth a few thousand. If you are ever lucky enough to find one, buy it! no matter the condition. You will most likey not get another chance. Any Hardcore Mego or Stretch collector knows that owning one of these Incredibly Rare Elastic Hulks places them in an elite collectors status far among all other collectors.Just think about it,only 11 in the entire world!

Above, Mego Elastic Hulk #1 This number one Mego Hulk appeard in the Tomart Action Figure Digest, issue #60 in 1999. A true testament to its absolute mint caliber as only the best will do for Tomart.A most perfect Hulk figure still in absolute original cornsyrup filled condition with no leaks and still soft and flexible. This Hulk is one of only 2 Hulks that has never been repaired and is totally blemish free.Johns Hulk is unusually large and full making this the heaviest Hulk next to the number 8 Hulk. It just breathes Rage with its buldging bicepts and the massive Hulk Chest. The Mego Employee that made this one definitley followed the rules.Stuffed to the maximus, this is one heavy Hulk! The skin is like a babies ass. Boasts a near Mint Original Box, Instructions and Lid. John struggeled with a life long search for this baby.

Mego Hulk #2 A very fine Hulk Specimen if I may say so myself. This Hulk was previously owned by the king himself but now has a new owner named Steve. Number 2 hulk was drained of his lifeblood and refilled with cotton. Cotton is an amazing alternative to syrup and gives the stretch figure a nice full shape without the added weight of the syrup that can be too much for some of the older stretch figures skin to handle. A repair was needed on his hand were the drain/refill was performed. He does have some skin blemishes and touch ups here and there but who cares with somthing this rare! He still looks incredibly great! He is now preserved for a lifetime of enjoyment. Includes original instructions and Original Box.

Mego Hulk #3 owned by a resident of the United Kingdom is a most pleasing Stretch Specimen I just recently finished operating in this Hulk which involved ablood transfusion or( adding some syrup) and closing up the collar bone insicion where the refill procedure was performed. He now looks incredible! Box Copy made by the King, and instructions. A very repectable Hulk

Mego Hulk #4 Andrew Goldman is the new owner of the most perfect Hulk in existence to Date. This beautiful Hulk just sold for over $5,000 on an ebay auction! It is most a perfect example of the Mego Elastic Increadible Hulk. This Hulk is still perfectly soft and supple, nice vibrant green color to the latex too. Becasue of recently updated information I have revalued this Minty Hulk. This Hulk would be valued at maximum value of $9.500 or more if it werent for the tear in the box. However, I really dont think from a collectors standpoint that the box would diminish the value at all due to the extreme rarity and perfection of this almost 30 year old Hulk. Comes with Original Box and instructions. An absolutley amazing looking Hulk that is definitley impossible to beat. Stretchy’s,you are looking at what is the top 2 most perfect Mego Elastic Hulks on the planet! I will say for the record that this Hulk is valued at over $9,500 but again, because of the tear in the box its real Value $9,800

The Greenest And Meanest of all the Hulks! I just recently purchased this fine specimen and I can tell you its awsome! Each Hulk has a unique color and this number 8 hulk is the Deepest Green of them all! Hulk Number 8 looks perfect with a super full, Gigantic Hulk Chest and incredibly, still totally super soft and supple. This is the heaviest and fullest Hulk of them all. This Hulk is close to mint but does have a small blemish in the top shoulder that does not ditract from its appearance at all and was inspected by the King showing no signs of leaks at all.Hulk comes with the Origianl Minty Box, coffin ,lid, and instructions. Its got it all! With only 8 Mego Elastic Hulks known to exist, this Monster Hulk is surley one of the top 4! Hulk Number 8 comes in at a cool $7,400

Welcome to the Stretch Armstrong Blog

Posted by gernot44 in Oct 20, 2009, under Stretch Armstrong

The original one and only blog totally devoted the the cornsyrup filled he man himself, The Legendary Stretch Armstrong Action Figure. I opened this site for all you stretch nuts out there like myself who are crazy about these highly collectable stretch figures as I am.Of course all the stretch versions will be included here like the Super Holy Grail Denys Fisher Stretch Hulk, Stretch Serpent, The Octopi Siblins, X Ray, Monster, and dont forget the very scarce Mego elastics! Few poeple realize just how many Stretch Figure versions were actually produced. An estimated 60 different versions from Japan, Germany, Italy, France,Australia and other countries all took part in there own versions of the Armstrong and Monster. But Companies such as Hasbro,Justoys and Cap Toys produced their own unique Stretch Figures like Stretch Mask, and Stretch Genie and the newer 1993 Stretch Armstrong. I started collecting these awsome stretches 7 years ago and now I have the Largest most complete Stretch collection in the world as you will see on this site. Stretch Armstrong figures are highly valuable, and unlike any other action figure because they are filled with corn syrup making them very unique.I happen to be the utmost authority on Stretch Figure Preservation and have devised several methods of this preservation process I will share with you on the Stretch Armstrong Blog. These 4 easy preservation steps will make it possible to maintain your stretch figure for another 30 years and beyond.

The original Stretch Armstrong figure idea was concieved by a CPG employee named James O. Kuhn in 1974. Kenner did not actually recieve a patent for the figure untill 1979. From 1976 to 1979 Kenner made over 50 million dollars on all the stretch versions, and was the largest buyer of cornsyrup over those same years .There were 40,000 Stretch Armstrongs produced by Kenner in the U.S. between 1976 and 1979. Thats not really that many if you think about it especially since 99% of them were ripped apart and thrown and never made it past Christmas of 1976. That means out of the over 300 Million people in the U.S. roughly every 7,500 persons would have to share only one Stretch Armstrong figure! There have been only about 60 Stretch Armstrongs that have appeared in the last five years in varying conditions and only about 30 in clean to near mint condition. There are even fewer of the other versions. Some as low as 1 or none. Thats gives you an idea of just how rare these stretches have become. Only a handful are left today, only a handful. The cornsyrup was condensed to just the right viscosity to make the stretch return slowly to its original position as the latex skin reacted against this highly viscosic goo. Collectors of these figures are very aggresive and determined because they know with such limited numbers remaining that at any time they may be all gone. This can make finding the one you want more difficult yet more fun too. Afterall the fun is always in the hunt, right? It took me 3 years to find the Stretch Serpent! One can only know how much fun collecting stretches can be if one becomes obsessed as I have become.Stretches are in a class all by themselves.Get ready for a look at Americas favorite then and now action figures. Be very carefull, or you just may become a Stretchy!
